Recently, the FITM graduate student, Weijun Li, has attended the 14th International Conference on Studies, Repairs and Maintenance of Heritage Architecture,
which was organized by Wessex Institute and was held in A Coruña (Spain). Li is a master degree student in the MITHM English program, she published the paper
titled “Exploring tourism attitudes toward Macau: a semantic network analysis of Sina Micro-blogs” in the conference. Another article titled “Relationship
between destination image and satisfaction: visits to Macau World Heritage as moderator”, written by FITM colleagues, Dr. Eusebio Leou, Dr. Anna Hsiao and
Dr. Xing Wang, has been presented in the same conference. Both these two papers are the fruits of the current research project “The Strategy of Development
and Promotion for Cultural Heritage Tourism: A Study of Heritage Tourist Beheaver In Macau” sponsored by Macau Fundation.
Delegates from universities and institutes of more than twenty countries have attended the 14th STREMAH this year. Scholars have been inspired and progressed through intensive discussion and humble share over the conference. The conference focuses on the research issues concerning World Heritage. Additionally, the publications from CityU have successfully attracted and stimulated the attention of the delegates from different regions. The publications were expected to
provide information for the sustainable development of World Heritage and Tourism and were included in the Journal 《Sustainable Development》Vol.15.
The mentioned paper presented by the MITHM student Li was approved by the double blind review by the Faculty academic committee then the STREMAH
academic committee. Li actively joined in the research team as an assistant and got the inspiration from the research project, then submitted the paper under the supervision of team members teachers. Thanks to the great support from the Dean of the FITM, Li would have this opportunity for her presentation in Spain. The
attendance of the international conference has also facilitated a student with the international vision and high academic to diversify the experience during the
master study, Li said. It was also expected as the future foundation for future science research, academic work and further study.
