Tourism, with competitive employment, compensation and benefits, is one of Macau's leading industries. Numerous employment opportunities, competitive salary, and lower tax policy make tourism the most

sought-after industry in Macau. Discerning and driven individuals inevitably enter the tourism industry

through professional programs.

Faculty of International Tourism and Management (FITM) of City University of Macau was established in

September 2011, in keeping with the direction of Macao's economic development. It was approved by the Macao SAR Government to offer bachelor degree in international tourism and hotel management, and

master degree in international hospitality and tourism management, master degree in international hotel management, and doctoral degree in international tourism management. In line with the mission of

"promoting innovative teaching and scientific research, cultivating high-quality tourism talents, and 

fostering social harmony and prosperity", FITM has a vision with "a good reputation and high influence in Macao and the the Asia-Pacific region, a high level of internationalization, distinctive features, and

interactive development of industry-academia cooperation". After nearly a decade development, FITM

currently has more than 2,600 full-time undergraduates, master and doctoral students, and dozens of

teaching staff and well-known professors.

FITM advocates high-quality teaching and scientific research, and is the first in Macao to achieve full

coverage of the World Tourism Organization TedQual certification in undergraduate, master, and doctoral programs. By the end of August 2023, teachers of FITM have published 249 academic papers in SSCI

academic journals, published 42 various academic works and textbooks, and undertaken 80 various

scientific research projects.

At the same time, FITM continues to expand cooperation channels, build a broader development platform for students, establish close cooperation with many well-known local and overseas tourism companies,

and provide students with professional internships. It also actively boosts the cultivation and development of local talents, and cooperates with large tourism companies to provide a series of "Industrial Assistance

and Talent Development Programs" for outstanding local students.

Subjects of FITM enter the top 500 of "Shanghai Rankings Global Ranking of Academic Subjects

among the top 20% of world universities for four consecutive years since 2020.

Currently, Macau is striving to build a name for itself as a world tourism and leisure center. Focusing on

improvement of innovation and competitiveness, providing tourists with more quality services, and
