The Walt Disney World Internship Programme 2019, joined by the Faculty of International Tourism and Management (FITM) of City University of Macau (CityU), was successfully carried out from June. This year, 13 FITM students, led by Ms. Wang Xin, Assistant Professor and Bachelor
Programme Coordinator, and Mr. Wesley Ho, FITM administrative staff, went to Florida State University (FSU) for a ten-day study programme before embarking on a six-month international internship programme at the Walt Disney World Resort in the United States.
The study programme conducted at FSU is rich in content. In addition to face-to-face lectures, various cultural exchanges, orientation
activities, and learning about backstage operations of chain restaurants and hotels & resorts were also arranged to help the students adapt
to the local life.
The FITM has been actively collaborating with institutions at home and abroad to develop students' international perspective and
encourage them to participate in overseas internship programmes. The Walt Disney World Internship Programme is one of the most unique
programmes in the FITM. The programme provides students with internship opportunities in various positions such as retail, catering and
customer service at the Walt Disney World Resort. It is hoped that students can consolidate their basic knowledge of hotel and tourism
management, as well as enhance their leadership and international perspective.
