On November 21, the 2016 Global Hospitality and Tourism Forum organized by the Faculty of International Tourism and Management of CityU was held in HG02, Ho Yin Convention Centre, City University of Macau. Prof. Hanqin Qiu from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and
Prof. Carson L. Jenkins from Strathclyde University in the United Kingdom attended the forum as guest speakers. Vice Rector Prof. Kong
Fanqing and Academic Registrar Dr. Sean Li of City University of Macau attended the event, presented souvenirs to the guests, and took
photos with them. Dr. Gavin Chau, Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of International Tourism and Management, welcomed the two
guest speakers, and introduced the purpose and significance of the 2016 Global Hospitality and Tourism Forum. He noted that FITM will
continue to invite prestigious scholars and experts around the world to attend the academic forums and exchange activities.
At the forum, Prof. Hanqin Qiu and Prof. Carson L. Jenkins respectively delivered speeches on "Educational Reform in the Internet Era:
Innovation, Development and Enlightenment", and conducted the in-depth interpretation and analysis of educational reform faced by
traditional education in the Internet era as well as the innovative development of education in the future. Students showed great enthusiasm and interest in the speeches delivered by the two professors, and actively raised questions during the Q&A session to explore and exchange
views on the current hot topics of tourism study with them.
At the end of the forum, the two guest speakers took a group photo with the teachers and students of FITM. Programme coordinators James H.W. Shen, Ho-Kai Chan, Kenny J. M. Luo of the Faculty of International Tourism and Management, and Ms. Zhang Jing in charge of
international exchange affairs of FITM attended the forum.
