From June 13 to 16, 2019, the 2019 World Transport Convention was held in Beijing National Convention Center. Dean Kevin Hannam of FITM attended the meeting on behalf of City University of Macau, and shared the keynote report entitled "Intelligent Tourism Transportation:
Technical and Social Challenges".
The meeting was hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Transport and the Chinese Academy of
Engineering, and presented by China Highway and Transportation Society. It has cast a great influence in the transportation sector at home
and abroad, and is becoming an influential international academic exchange brand, providing an international platform for politics,
production, learning, research and application that incubates, guides, demonstrates and implements innovation.
The 2019 World Transport Convention was expected to receive about 6,000 visitors, including approximately 700 representatives from
overseas. The convention consisted of four major sections including the conference, exhibition, competition and reports, and the innovative
service platform.
The forum mainly included eight sectors: highway engineering, structural engineering, traffic engineering, transportation planning, water
transport, rail transport, air transport and inter-discipline. The forms of academic exchange included the invited report of the convention, the
invited report of the forum, podium reports and posters. During the convention, various competitions and awards, a series of activities related to the "Belt and Road" international transportation topics and a large-scale expo were also organized.
