[Academic Trends] Seminar on Tourism by Prof. Dr. Edith M. Szivas


On October 25, the Faculty of International Tourism and Management invited Prof. Dr. Edith M. Szivas from MODUL University Dubai to

present the seminar on "Tourism Experience Design" for senior students of FITM's English programs. Dean Prof. Kevin Hannam and Prof. Li Xin of FITM attended the seminar.

 

Prof. Dr. Edith M. Szivas elaborated on the generation and classification of tourism experience, and extended the topic to the design of

tourism experience programs. During the seminar, students actively raised questions and participated in the design of tourism experience

programs. Prof. Dr. Edith M. Szivas provided valuable personal suggestions for different tourism experience programs designed by the

students.

 

Prof. Dr. Edith M. Szivas is a leading international expert in the area of tourism and hospitality with the track record in strategy and

development of over 25 years. She has been involved in a number of governmental projects aimed at strategic development of the hospitality industry across several countries in Europe and Middle East. She is an author of numerous publications and is also actively engaged into

public speaking. Prof. Dr. Edith M. Szivas has a vast academic experience in the Universities of London, Surrey, Greenwich, Macau, and others. Her ongoing consultancy activity with the leading global organizations like UNWTO and USAID has made her contribution into development of the industry truly invaluable.
