From August 11th to 24th, 2019, students from FITM went to the UK to participate in the two-week summer British culture and Tourism
Management Program at the University of Oxford, Hertford College.
The University of Oxford is ranked first in the world. The summer exchange program of Hertford College on tourism has been elaborately
designed by the University of Oxford. Modules are taught by professional professors at Oxford with PhD degree or postdoctoral fellows
through diversified teaching approaches. Famous professors at Oxford are specially invited to give keynote speeches, and students can take multiple thematic modules, including the economic impact of Brexit, travel tips, tourism English, and hotel management, and communicate
with students of the University of Oxford. Within the whole duration of the program, students live in the dormitories of the University of
Oxford, feeling the charm of the globally top university in all aspects.
The University of Oxford specially organize outdoor activities and tours guided by teachers. Field trips enable students to have a deeper
understanding of the history, culture and local architecture of the UK and broaden their horizons. During the program, Dr. Gavin Chau,
Executive Associate Dean of FITM, took the time to visit and to meet the students.
Students are satisfied with this program, they can personally feel the learning and living atmosphere in the University of Oxford and widen
their horizons. Not only improve their English skills significantly but also develop friendships with local or other international students. The
students express their hope to have the opportunity to return to Oxford in the future.
