With the aim of strengthen school-enterprise cooperation and exchanges, enhance tourism students’understanding of Macao's
professional knowledge of hotels and conventions, develop industry-university-research cooperation, and promote close connections
between the academic-industry, students from the Faculty of International Tourism and Management of the City University of Macau visited
the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, through touring and exchanges, understand how local tourism enterprises innovate their business models under the epidemic, cultivate students' practical ability and professionalism in tourism, enhance the competitiveness of learning and work,
broaden the horizons of the industry, and shorten the gap in learning.
Ms. Paulina Pereira Che, Assistant Vice President of Sands China Convention and Exhibition Operations and Mr. Michael Mou, the Associate
Director led students to visit the Venetian Macao Ballroom and Conference Hall, and introduced the entire conference and exhibition
planning process and some detailed precautions of large-scale conference and exhibition preparations, visits to the various exhibition areas
and backstage of the Cotai Expo to understand the daily operations of the hotel conference and exhibition staff and equipment under the
epidemic situation. Students actively asked questions and gained a lot.
Through this visit, Associate Professor Li Xi, Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of International Tourism and Management, City University of Macau, and Assistant Professor Cindy Wang, the Programme Coordinator, told students that they should not be slack in the exhibition
industry under the epidemic. They must be full of hope, and continue to improve themselves, be fully prepared for the recovery of the
convention and exhibition industry, and face the infinite possibilities in the future with a positive attitude.
The Faculty of International Tourism and Management of the City University of Macau has established close cooperation with various
renowned local tourism enterprises, constantly expanding different cooperation channels, building a broader development platform for
students, providing professional academic industry exchange opportunities, and actively promoting the training and development of local
tourism talents. This coincides with Sands China's participation in the Macau youth training program and its commitment to fulfilling its social responsibilities and assisting in promoting the sustainable development of the hotel and convention and exhibition industry. The Faculty of
International Tourism and Management, City University of Macau will continue to strengthen cooperation with Sands China in exchanges and internships, and jointly cultivate a new generation of tourism talents.
Students visited the Venetian and took a group photo
