The second Lecture on the career development successfully launched--face-to-face with industry elites


With the perfect conclusion of the first professional development lecture series, the industry elite face-to-face series invited the second guest-Mr. Roberto D. Madan, he is the general manager of the Zhuhai Zhonghai Pullman Hotel, to carry out "How to be a General Manager-Sharing of Forty Years of Mind and Journeys" speech for our students.

As a senior professional manager, Mr. Roberto D. Madan is proficient in multiple languages. He has many years of working experience in many cities in Mainland China and special administrative regions like Macao and HongKong, and he is very familiar with the hotel industry in China. Mr. Roberto D. Madan has a unique personal management approach in the establishment of hotel projects and various aspects of business.

His excellent operation and management experience has won many reputations and has been awarded the honorary title of "Best General

Manager in China's Hotel Industry" many times.

 

During his tenure as the general manager of Zhonghai Pullman Hotel, Mr. Roberto D. Madan exceeded the performance and revenue budget

targets issued by the owner for four consecutive years, setting a benchmark for operation and management in the hotel industry at the same

level in Zhuhai. During the epidemic, he used pioneering thinking and flexibly adjusted market strategies to ensure that the company was

profitable even when the hotel business was severely affected. Mr. Roberto D. Madan made sufficient preparations for this lecture. He

explained the hotel's basic profit model to the students by taking the hotel profitability data of Zhonghai Pullman as an example. Many

students were exposed to real hotel internal data outside of the classroom for the first time. Mr. Roberto D. Madan's sharing deepened their

understanding of theoretical knowledge.

In addition to the knowledge of hotel profitability, Mr. Roberto D. Madan also shared some of his personal experience as the general manager of the hotel. Mr. Roberto D. Madan encourages students to have a positive attitude towards the hotel industry, to have an awareness of

starting from the grassroots, and to cultivate the ability to bear hardships and stand hard work. At the same time, he also emphasized the help of personal emotional intelligence and flexible adaptability to the hotel industry, so that students who are willing to work in the hotel industry have a deeper understanding of personal career planning.

In the second half of the lecture, the students raised their questions about the hotel industry freely. Many students are curious about the hotel industry not only on the professional level, but also on the current development and possible challenges of the hotel industry. Mr. Roberto

D. Madan patiently answered the questions of the students, and kindly and humorously explained to the students how to deal with different

situations as the general manager of the hotel.
