FITM Participated in Hong Kong Geography Day


Earlier, the Faculty of International Tourism Management (FITM) actively participated in the Hong Kong Geography Day 2024 at Yasumoto

International Academic Park (YIA), The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

 

The event, themed "Sustainability Plus: The Greater Bay Area and Beyond," was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Geographical Association and the Department of Geography and Resource Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The conference focused on

sustainable development challenges and opportunities within the Greater Bay Area region and explored broader geographical perspectives

on environmental sustainability.

 

Dr. Duan Xialei, Sally from FITM attended the full-day conference. The event featured distinguished keynote speakers including Prof. KWAN

Mei-Po from Guangzhou University and Prof. BAO Jigang from Sun Yat-sen University, alongside secondary school talk speakers who shared insights on geographical education and research.

 

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Duan received a commemorative souvenir from the organizers in recognition of FITM's participation in this significant academic gathering. The conference provided valuable networking opportunities and facilitated knowledge exchange on

sustainable tourism development, geographic information systems, and regional planning strategies relevant to FITM's academic mission and research initiatives.
