FITM Master students visited corporate sustainability training and education at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort in Macau

On April 3, 2024, a class of master's students was led by senior lecturer Janice Law Yin Man from the Faculty of International Tourism and

Management of City University of Macau. The group visited the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort in Macau and received a warm reception,

professional explanation, and interactive Q&A from the training team of the Human Resources Department at SJM Resorts, S.A. In this course of "Special Topic in Tourism Education and Training", master's students will learn about the business philosophy and corporate culture of

successful resorts through industry examples, from recruitment to onboarding, from training to improving the most precious human resources within the company, covering all hotels and different positions under SJM corporation. A current management trainee from the resort also

personally shared how he adopted new perspectives and applied them to his professional disciplines through working in various

departments.

This visit allowed students to learn about an enterprise that upholds heritage and innovation, provides high-quality comprehensive tourism

and leisure services to tourists and Macau residents, demonstrates the advantages of large-scale integrated resorts in cultivating talents, and vigorously promotes local economic development. Our students were also fortunate to visit the staff learning venue to further understand the concept of excellent service in Macau's international tourism and hotel industry, gain first-hand understanding and broaden their knowledge.

Students further realized that the resort combines unique Chinese style elements with European design, reflecting Macau's blend of Chinese

and Western cultures, and providing an elegant and distinguished taste of leisure enjoyment.

We sincerely thank the training team of the SJM Resorts, S.A. Human Resources Department for their continuous support and assistance in

making this visit a success.
