On 20 November, Faulty of International Tourism and Management (FITM) of City University of Macau invited Dr. Hong-Kun Xu,

Academician of World Academy of Sciences and Distinguished Professor of Hangzhou Dianzi University as the guest speaker of FITM

Academic Seminar. In the past, Dr. Hong-Kun Xu has focused on the study and application of nonlinear functional analysis. He had worked

at KwaZulu-Nata University, South Africa, National Sun Yat-Sen University and other well-known universities. In 2004, he won the top

mathematics academy award in the South Africa.

At the start of the seminar,  Dr. Hong-Kun Xu shared his insights on the topic “A brief discussion on the interest, motivation and

achievements of the research”.

It was very inspiring and during the Q&A session, our Ph.D students showed great interest and raised lots of questions regarding quantitative researches. After the seminar, Dr. Gavin Chau, Executive Associate Dean of FITM, presented the souvenir to our guest.
