“Dr Zhang Jianzhong Distinguished Professor Award Ceremony cum Tourism Seminar” organized by the Faculty on International Tourism and Management of the University was held on 13 April at HG 01, Ho Yin Convention Centre of the University. Guests who attended the event included Rector Prof Zhang Shuguang,
Dr Gavin Chau, Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of International Tourism and Management and Dr Kenny J. M. Luo, Doctoral Program Coordinator.
Rector Zhang Shuguang presented a certificate to Prof Zhang Jianzhong at the ceremony. After the ceremony, Prof Zhang spoke at a seminar entitled “New
Development Trends of Macau’s Tourism under the ‘Belt and Road’ Strategy” and analyzed in detail the role of Macau and the development of its tourism
industry under the “Belt and Road” initiative. As a platform for Portuguese speaking countries, Macau has its unique culture and regional advantage. This
enables Macau to have a role to play in facilitating trading that leverages the strengths of different countries and in promoting cultural and tourism exchanges
along the “Belt and Road”. Students who attended the seminar actively participated in the Q & A session and discussed with the guests on issues including the new development trends of Macau’s tourism.

General of Macau Hoteliers & Innkeepers Association, President of the Macao Cultural Creativity Industry Research Center and President, Macau Association of
Chinese Calligraphy.
