On September 14th, Faculty of International Tourism and Management invited Professor Zhang Chaozhi from Sun Yat-Sen University to hold
an academic lecture titled "Anti-criticism of Critical Heritage Research and Its Implications for Heritage Tourism Research". This lecture held
by FITM, as one of the series of academic activities, is to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of CityU and to build academic bridges for teachers
and students.
This lecture was conducted in an online and offline sychronization mode, which attracted the participation of many teachers and students
from our university. In this lecture, Professor Zhang Chaozhi reinterpreted critical heritage research from an anti-critical perspective and
analyzed new perspectives on heritage tourism research in light of sustainable development. Under the leadership of Professor Zhang, the
students raised constructive questions and the atmosphere of the lecture was very active.
Professor Zhang Chaozhi is currently the deputy dean of the Belt and Road Research Institute of Sun Yat-sen University, the head of the
Zhangjiajie Observation Point for Sustainable Development of the United Nations World Tourism Organization(UNWTO), and the
chairperson of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Tourism in UNESCO Designated Sites.
In order to broaden the horizons of teachers and students and build a good learning platform for them, FITM will regularly invite well-known scholars at home and abroad to hold academic lectures in the future.
