FITM students represented Macau to take part in the 6th National College Students Case Study Competition of City Governance


The 6th National College Students Case Study Competition of City Governance was successfully held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. After

the invitation was extended to universities across the country in June 2020, the competition has drawn more than 81 teams from 70

well-known universities from Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau, including Tsinghua University, Sun Yat-sen University, Nankai University,

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Baptist University, Macau University, etc. Ren Haiyan and Ming Yukun, students of Bachelor Program of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Zhou Yixiang and Gong Minmin, students of Bachelor

Program of Applied Economics, teamed up to participate in the competition.

 

After fierce competition in the preliminary and semi-finals, the CityU team stood out and won the second place in the Hong Kong and Macau area and entered the final as the only university representative from Macau. Other teams that competed with our team in the final included

teams from Tsinghua University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Renmin University of

China, Hong Kong Baptist University, Xiamen University, Sun Yat-sen University, Nankai University, Sichuan University, East China Normal

University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Jinan University, Zhengzhou University, Shandong University, Soochow

University, Capital University of Economics and Business, China University of Political Science and Law, and Southwest University of Political

Science and Law.

 

In the final competition, the CityU team encountered strong opponents from Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University, Soochow University,

Shanghai Jiaotong University, China University of Political Science and Law, and finally lost narrowly to Sun Yat-sen University and Jinan

University Joint Team by 0.5 points and missed the top three. The judges expressed their great appreciation for the excellent performance of

the CityU team. After the competition, the four students were also honored to be selected for 10,000 Scheme (an exchange program for

students from Hong Kong and Macau) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
