In mid-October 2023, the Qualitative Research Workshop organized by the Faculty of International Tourism and Management (FITM) was

successfully held at Jinlong Campus. Dr. Haiyan Feng was invited as the keynote speaker again, and more than 40 master and doctoral students actively participated in the workshop. The workshop aimed to provide an opportunity for students to gain an in-depth understanding of

qualitative research methods and, through the combination of theory and practice, to help students improve their ability to grasp the core

concepts and technical methods of qualitative research.

At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Haiyan Feng explained qualitative research design and analysis in greater detail, from the simple to the

profound, focusing on four aspects: the characteristics of qualitative research and the role of the researcher, different qualitative research

methods, how to collect and analyze data, and how to report the results of qualitative research. The students were also given an in-depth

understanding of the design of qualitative research methods and the use of software through real data collection and analysis.

FITM will continue to provide more and better academic exchange platforms for doctoral and master students to continuously improve

students' academic ability and promote academic output. We hope that FITM teachers and students will continue to pay attention to more

academic activities to be launched by the faculty.
