On October 18, 2023, the Faculty of International Tourism and Management (FITM) invited an outstanding alumnus, Prof. Yuangang Zhang,

who is currently an associate professor at Shanghai Normal University and the deputy director of the Editorial Department of Tourism Science, to attend this "Sharing Meeting of Outstanding Alumni" to teach our master and doctoral students about dissertation writing and to broaden their scientific research ideas.

With the theme "Helping you decipher the code of high-quality dissertation writing," Prof. Zhang offered new perspectives on topic selection and research methods. Simultaneously, he utilized his own research as an example to demonstrate and explain to the students how to grasp

the key points of writing and read the documents more efficiently. Prof. Zhang was quite funny, and the atmosphere was lively.

In addition to the lecture, Prof. Zhang discussed how he dealt with academic stress during his PhD studies. In his perspective, the ability to

boldly release one's pressure and express one's emotions is an important prerequisite. He stated that the help and care from teachers and

fellow students gave him confidence and strength during his study at FITM of the City University of Macau (CityU), allowing him to calm down and study quietly. He encourages students to make the most of their time in school, utilize all academic resources, and to strive for personal

growth.

The Outstanding Alumni Sharing Session assists incoming students and alumni in adjusting to their new lives and integrating into their new

surroundings by strengthening the bond between alumni and their alma mater and fully using the benefits of alumni resources. It is intended that more graduates would share their academic experiences on this platform in the future, thereby increasing alumni strength and influence.
