On 9th March 2021, the Faculty of International Tourism and Management (FITM) successfully held the 2nd Lecture of“Tourism Enterprises

Innovation and Strategic Management”series, which is also the 40th Anniversary event series of City University of Macau.  This industry

lecture invited Mr. Poon Yiu Wing, Deputy General Manager of Prime Marketing & Promotional Services Co., Ltd., and Chairman & Youth

Committee Director of Macao Convention & Exhibition Association to share.  Dr. Li Xi, Executive Associate Dean, Dr. Cindy Wang, Bachelor

Program Coordinator, and Convention major students attended the lecture.

As the Chairman of Macao Convention & Exhibition Association, Mr. Poon Yiu Wing involved in the Macau convention & exhibition industry

for over 10 years, with rich experience in operations and management of exhibition projects, and has a great influence on Macau Convention & Exhibition Industry. During the lecture, Mr. Poon Yiu Wing first recapitulated the development of the convention & exhibition industry in

Macau in the past 10 years, the current situation of the exhibition industry under post-epidemic, and analyzed the industry development

trend after the epidemic. Moreover, Mr. Poon proposed innovative directions and development strategies in four aspects, which are

cooperation with enterprises in Greater Bay area, online & offline integration, “conference+”and“travel+”.

Mr. Poon shared his rich industry experiences, which aroused the enthusiasm of the students, many students interacted with Mr. Poon. Some of them raised questions about the development trend of the Macau convention and exhibition industry after the epidemic, Mr. Poon

explained and answered the students about the correspondent measures patiently.  Students expressed satisfaction with the industry elite

experience sharing, which benefited a lot.

At the end of the lecture, Assistant Professor Cindy Wang said:“There are infinite development prospects of Convention and Exhibition

Industry, innovation and strategic management has important value and significance on the practical operations of Convention and

exhibition projects.  After listening to the valuable experiences presented by professional convention and exhibition manager, I hope

everyone can understand in different directions and levels about the development trend of the industry, enhance core competitiveness,

and continue to learn more for future participation in the industry”.
