Working Experience

1983/6 to 2013/6                           

Nelson Wong graduated from Escola Secundaria do Infante D. Henrique (Liceu). He completed the program in 1987 and was awarded the (Governor Prize) Premio do Governador de Macau. He acquired his first degree in the Macau University (formerly known as East Asia University of Macau) in Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2^nd honor (upper division), he passed his MBA in Asia Open University in Macau. He has been in the banking sector for over 30 years and as lecturer for continuous study and training programs for over 15 years. During his service with the bank, he had been Credit manager and Branch manager, in 2009 he launched credit card business for the bank and established financially independent operating center of about 20 team members under his supervision, with annual income and expenditure of the department under his budget control and monthly monitoring and supervision according to the business development and planning. Mr. Wong has been one of the members of the Credit Committee of the Bank, and also lending approver (with lending authority) of credit to commercial and industrial entities which evidenced that he possess rich experiences on financial analysis, financial control, auditing, Management process and system set up, accounting operations and credit operations.

2013/6 to 2017/3                          

2013 Nelson V. K. Wong left his post as Credit Card Department Head of a banking institution, August 2013 and started his doctorate study of Tourism and became a part time lecturer of various educational institutions. 2016 he completes his doctorate degree in International Tourism study of City University of Macau. He is the registered public accountant, member of the Institute of Bankers in UK, the vice president of the Association of the employee of Macau Financial Section, the Secretary General of the Executive Board of the Macau Adult Education Association, member of the Social Science Association of Macau, former BIS chief quality auditor, he is also contracted as part time tutor of various financial related subjects such as Logic, Accounting, Auditing, Financial report analysis, Management, Statistic, Stock Investment and Analysis in the Macau University, Macau University of Science and Technology and City University and City University of Macau.

Major interest in the exploration in the tourism development study and preservation of the heritage of the Macau religious and cultural site, hence maintains various network and strong relationship with many association in the local community.
