On March 1, 2021, the Faculty of International Tourism and Management (FITM) invites Sands China Assistant Vice President – Convention & Exhibition Operations, Director of the Macao Youth Federation, and Vice President of Macao Association of Young Employees in the Gaming

Industry, Ms. Paulina Pereira Che, to bring the first lecture of the "Tourism Enterprise Innovation and Strategic Management" series to FITM

doctoral students and master students and students from the elite class. The lecture was held at HG03 in Ho Yin Convention Center. Dr. Li Xi,

Executive Associate of FITM, Dr. Cindy Wang, Bachelor Program Coordinator, and Ms. Liona Ieong, Intern and International Exchange Program Coordinator attended the lecture.

As an experienced and witness of the rapid development of Macau’s convention and exhibition industry, Ms. Paulina Pereira Che first shared her work experience in Sands China from 2007 to the present, and combined with her more than 20 years of work management experience,

she told the students in detail about how the hotel and exhibition industry managers understand the potential needs of customers through

communication and apply various methods to plan, supervise and coordinate corporate teams, company teams, exhibition teams, and

conference and exhibition projects. The lecture not only gave students a deeper understanding of the management strategies and innovative theoretical knowledge of Macau hotels and convention and exhibition enterprises but also gave them many career advice which benefited a

lot.

At the end of the lecture, Ms. Paulina Pereira Che delivered a message: "Management is communication. I hope everyone will always keep a

dynamic learning spirit in the future out of the campus, and persevere with the career of their choice, cherish every learning and work

opportunity, and be the best in the industry."

FITM of the City University of Macau has always been committed to building academic bridges for teachers and students, encouraging the

joint development of industry, teaching, and research, enhancing students' professional knowledge, learning from the valuable experience in the industry, and providing students with diversified learning opportunities.

This lecture series enables students to study the experience and insights of industry managers, communicate with the industry elites, and

enrich their professional knowledge through the industry practice and management experience shared by guests, and have a further

understanding of the hotel and exhibition industry. It is also one of the City University of Macau 40th anniversary series of events organized

by the Faculty.
