The Faculty of International Tourism and Management held a meeting on August 20, 2021, to ensure the quality of the programs of the
faculty. Professor. Li Xi, Executive Associate Dean, convened the meeting, which was also attended by Dr. Huawen Shen, Director of Master's
and Ph.D. Programs; Dr. Xin Wang, Director of Undergraduate Programs; Dr. Bo Gao, Director of External Affairs and Academic Activities;
Professor Ivan Lai, representative of the faculty members; and Xinran Hua, student representative. Simultaneously, online conferences
brought together invited experts and professors from industry and academia in Macau and mainland China for in-depth discussions and
exchanges about the development and quality assurance of FITM programs.
This year, FITM invited the following quality assurance consultants: Professor Qiu Hanqin, Dean of Nankai University's School of Tourism and
Service; Professor Daisy Fan of Bournemouth University; Mr. Roerto D Mardan, General Manager of Pullman Hotel Zhuhai Zhonghai; and Zhu Haisheng, Chairman of Opal International (Macau) Exhibition Group Co., Ltd.
Dr. Li Xi began by briefing the experts on the history and current state of the FITM. Each program's coordinators introduced the development of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. Following that, student representatives discussed their perceptions of their educational
experience and expectations at FITM. The conference's experts unanimously endorsed the faculty's overall position and achievements.
Additionally, the experts discussed the faculty's strategic positioning for development, as well as potential expansion areas. Furthermore,
experts discussed the qualities that future tourism professionals should possess. Thus far, the discussion and sharing have generated useful
suggestions for the development of FITM.
Finally, Dr. Li Xi and representatives from FITM expressed their appreciation for the experts' and students' presence. Additionally, the Faculty
of International Tourism and Management at the City University of Macau will make extensive use of experts' valuable opinions to
continuously improve the faculty's future development.
