Vice Rector participates in Hilton Hotel Management School Building, Development Workshop


On April 26, 2023, a seminar on the construction and development of the Hilton College of Hotel Management was held at Hilton's Greater

China and Mongolia headquarters. The conference's major goal was to methodically summarize the Hilton Hotel Management Institute's

experience and establish an agreement on its construction and future development.

Vice Rector of City University of Macau, Mr. Fanqing Kong, and Executive Associate Dean of Faculty of International Tourism and Management, Mr. Xi Li, were invited to the meeting. Vice Rector Kong stated during her speech at the meeting that the partnership between City University of Macau and Hilton Group began in 2020. At that time, the Hilton Group and City University of Macau not only reached a cooperation

agreement in terms of student training and internship, but also reached a consensus on the joint launch of the Hilton International Master of Hotel Management Education Center project. This meeting is beneficial to gaining the experience of sister institutions in the process of

establishing the Hilton School of Hotel Management, and at the same time, it is also beneficial to pooling the wisdom of multiple parties to

jointly explore various challenges and problems in the development, which will lay a solid foundation for more efficient industry-academia

cooperation in the future.

 

Prof. Patrick Pak, associate dean of the School of Hotel Management at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, thanked Hilton Group for

establishing this platform for close collaboration between industry and academia in talent development, and expressed a desire to

collaborate with Hilton Group and City University of Macau in the near future so that the three parties could contribute more to the

development of talents for the Master of Hotel Management program.

 

Subsequently, Executive Associate Dean  Xi Li introduced leaders and guests, including Xiaozhou Guo, senior director of Human Resources of Hilton Greater China and Mongolia,  Chenxue Chen, director of University-Enterprise Cooperation, and Li Li, Chief Educator of Hilton Greater

China and Mongolia, Professor of South China University of Technology, and Dean of the School of Business of Guangdong Ocean University,

the characteristics and innovative measures of the School of International Tourism and Management of the City University of Macau in the

cultivation of talents, as well as its achievements in teaching, scientific research, and service to society, The Faculty of International Tourism

and Management(FITM) of the City University of Macau in the cultivation of human resources, as well as in teaching, research, and community service to achieve milestones. The guests expressed their recognition and appreciation for the solid work and remarkable results achieved by

the FITM of the City University of Macau in promoting industry-academia cooperation.

 

During the meeting, attendees had positive and fruitful discussions with the leaders of Hilton Greater China and Mongolia headquarters

about future development strategies. The meeting was attended by Yingwei Ren, Vice President of Sichuan Tourism College; Taotao Jiang,

Director of the Party Committee Organization of Shandong Youth Political Science College and Head of the Hilton Hotel Management School Organizing Team; as well as representatives from relevant university colleges and professional fields.
